The meme says to pick a piece of artwork that you used to love, and this was one that I was very proud of for a long time, so I thought I'd take another crack at it. John Sheppard and Elizabeth Weir, dancing off-world. I reworked the scene to fit with a fic idea where they get stranded and are in native clothes as a disguise. After a long build-up, this is the moment when something starts to fundamentally shift between them; after this there's a new level of comfort and intimacy in their relationship. Their look isn't quite as intense/charged as the original, but that's okay. This scene is more about them having fun together and laughing and getting closer.

I'm still working on my lighting. It's something I always admire most about other people's art and I really want to get better at it. At least there's definitely an improvement from the original, brought about through the magic of photoshop and various filters and such. There's actually a version of this that's not so heavily shaded on the figures which I actually kind of like better, but this is the winner zoomed in. I'm definitely also happy with the improvement in their faces. The likeness is so much better (though John remains a pain to draw properly) and my proportions in general are more natural, though there's still a long way to go anatomy wise and in terms of conveying motion and not looking so stiffly posed. But still, I'm happy with it.
